Appulous: Troll Bridge

Filed under: Uncategorized — Axeile @ 5:27 pm

I’ve moved back to http://axeile.com. Thank you Jon, again =D. This list will not be updated here.

No, I will not give the passwords.

To ease up on the Appulous server(s?), Kyek implemented a Troll Bridge password protection to keep out the ones “not in the scene”, as least until the new servers arrive and are properly configured and tested. The questions change every now and then. I’ve logged most of them, but probably not all.

  1. Who am I?
  2. What was the name of Hackulous’ April Fool’s Day app?
  3. Hackulous started off as ___________.net?
  4. The very first public forum dedicated specifically to iphone 2.0 app cracking was hosted at ___________.com?
  5. Who is MOST credited with discovering the cracking method we use today?
  6. Who was the admin of HakStore?
  7. Who wrote the very first autocracking BASH script?
  8. What is the online alias of the first person to buy the appulo.us domain?
  9. What kind of jail are stock iPhones in?
  10. What is Haklab’s favorite food?
  11. What is the name of Appulous’ caching algorithm?
  12. _______4fun?
  13. ________aasdf?
  14. Three people were responsible for posting a huge number of apps to Appulous before it was ever opened to the public. These people are most_uniQue, bugmenotaasdf, and who else?
  15. This developer was the first to program a library for pulling all of the screenshots for an app out of the appstore.
  16. What was the name of the short-lived app on the Hackulo.us repo meant solely for refreshing your springboard cache?
  17. Who wrote the app that defeated nearly all “crack-aware” apps, at the expense of not being able to sync them to iTunes?
  18. TDDebug made AppScence.org what it is today. Who runs it now?
  19. I work for Apple’s law firm and have been trying to get Appulous shut down since the beginning. I wish I was better at my job :( . What’s my first and last name?

Bah.

Ok, I reeeally need a proper webhost.

Well, actually I don’t need it need it, but I like having the good stuff so for the sake of keeping myself happy, I NEED A PROPER WEBHOST, DAMMIT.

So, my previous host is gone, and I needed to host http://install0us.axeile.com/ (that’s a zero) somewhere, so I went back to Brinkster and published that URL at installous and whoa, what do you know, bandwidth exceeded. That’s what I get for using a noob hosting plan. My plan only gives 500MB of web traffic per month, and has a cap of 66MB per day. Total wtf. Hey, at least I didn’t go back to GEOCITIES. That was my first ever webhost. I was 13.

I’ve duplicated that webpage at x10hosting.com but it’s still a free plan with a bandwidth limit of 10GB. No daily limit though. No time yet to look for a proper host/plan and to weigh the pros and cons, but I’m leaning towards x10hosting’s $4.95/month plan as it’s the second cheapest I’ve seen and gives unmetered bandwidth, unlike Brinkster’s Rookie plan which costs $4/month (only if I go for the 24-month package) AND still has monthly+daily bandwidth limits.

Anyway, enough about that. I have a spam link: installous. Now go join the forum.

So, what’s install0us you ask. It is an application for the iPhone/iPod Touch (collectively called the iDevice) made by puy0. More information here.

Moving on, and speaking about moving, I will be moving (house) in December probably right after exams. Can’t wait. I hate this place. Maybe once we’ve moved, and once we’ve sold the other house (not likely anytime soon though) we’d have enough money to live a little more comfortably and maybe then, maybe, I can have my computer switched on 24/7 and                                                                     . I’ll talk more at length about this some other time.

Lalalalalala I’m off to study now.

This is. the worst. semester. ever.

Did I say..

I was going to get a C or a D for my MA4247 Complex Analysis II?

Well scratch that. I’m guaranteed an F because
1) I didn’t turn in any of the 4 homework assignments so that’s 15% gone
2) I probably got below 5 marks on my midterm so that’s 25% gone
3) I don’t really know my midterm score since I don’t turn up for tutorials and hence never got it back, but seeing as how the lecturer briefly went through the questions right after the test and basically informed me that I got every single question wrong, I can make a pretty accurate guess.

So that’s what, 40% gone. If I can score a 100% on my final paper *insert mirthless laughter here* it’ll only be a 60% of my final grade.

But let’s be realistic.

I can’t even pass that paper.

Fuck.

Honestly I’m so fucked up right now I don’t give a flying fucking damnshit who’s more dead for their finals. So go ahead and tell me YOU’RE dead. I dare you.

Back!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Axeile @ 8:06 pm

Yes, this the old WordPress blog, I’m moving back!

Solid Internet, the web host that Jon uses, has been MIA for ages now, and there’s little chance of reclaiming my stuff from June 29 2008 to Oct 2009 that has been on what used to axeile.com.

Wow, now that I spell it out, it’s very depressing. That’s over a year. Of precious stuff. Wow.

I think I’m gonna cry.

No, that can wait. It’s going to take too long anyway.

So a rough update, I’m forwarding axeile.com back to here, because why waste a good domain name huh? It’s not expiring until June 22 2010 anyway.

That and I also REALLY REALLY need a place to vent. And to talk to myself. I do a lot of talking to myself. Well, mostly I talk to threaten inanimate objects but since normative social guidelines dictate that inanimate objects shouldn’t be talked to, it looks like I’m talking to myself.

I find I subconsciously believe that there is life in all objects. Even inanimate and non-living objects.

And that is the basis of my violence.

Because I want to hurt them when I break them and watch their forlorn broken bodies and imagine squeaky little voices crying out in terror and fear at what I did and can and will do to them.

Sadly I don’t have any pictures to display here of things I’ve destroyed but it’s hard to take a picture of one’s sanity.

I do have a screencap to display though:

comments

I should check my past more often. I’m sorry, Passerby, for not replying you about the crepes like you requested; the shop’s located in the basement opposite The Soup Spoon. And thank you, Rosi, Jessi, and Zoe for agreeing with my rant, and I’m really sorry Rosi, but I can’t read Spanish so I Google Translated it and I’m afraid there’s no hope for any more Sailor Moon animes being produced. Ever again. I know. Here’s a tissue. May Toei burn in the 18th level of hell for screwing up that last story arc.

And here I have a snippet from my Global Dashboard on WordPress (all these dashboards are really confusing when you have more than one WP blog):

Now that you are signed in, you can continue signing in to http://www.blogger.com with your OpenID.

Give me a moment to unscrunch my face.

If any pixel on my Fujitsu laptop screen doesn’t know it yet, I HATE BLOGGER. Blogspot. Whatever. It’s an irrational and inexplicable dislike and seriously, if I’m on WordPress why would I downgrade to Blogger? It’s like asking a Linux user to go ahead and switch on a Windows.

Oh and for all the Windows hate, Win7 is sweet! I haven’t got it installed yet though so don’t take my word for it. I don’t have time at the moment to make up my mind if I want an upgrade and preserve my files and settings, or a clean installation to 64bit Win7 and lose my files and settings. Of course I can always make a backup but if I were to opt for the latter I would just go cold turkey and re-personalize my laptop again.

The latter option would definitely have to include purchase of two 2GB RAM sticks (because why waste the extra power of 64bit without getting 4GBs of RAM?) and that’s going to cost. Which is bad which is why I’m not done contemplating.

In other news I’m horrifically doomed this semester and I’m definitely guaranteed to get a C or a D for my Complex Analysis II because I haven’t paid any attention in class nor done any of the tutorials or homework and I got a single digit for my midterm.

The rest aren’t so hot either. I’m not even in it to learn anymore I just want to pass my exams and get out of there.

Joke: What did the mathematician name his dog?

Cauchy, because it leaves a residue at every pole.
